The Story of Ironwood & Ash

The Foundation

Batch #1. Started on a door, fueled by a dream.

“It started on a door.”

Not a mahogany desk or a corporate suite. In 2025, the Ironwood & Ash apothecary was born on a literal door, laid flat to serve as a workbench in a small apartment. It was the latest chapter in a ten-year journey of building, breaking, and rebuilding.

Ironwood & Ash isn’t just a business; it’s a piece of my soul. It was born during a season of profound personal transition. It came to life right after I met my wife, during a time when I was navigating the wreckage of divorce and the heavy shadows of personal struggle. I realized then that every “failed” venture I’d ever started wasn’t a mistake—it was raw material.

The Forge of Experience

A Decade of Refinement

Before the first tin of salve was poured, there was a decade of “not quite there.”

I’ve spent years in the back of an ambulance as a paramedic and on the line as a firefighter. I’ve sat behind a desk as an accountant for massive corporations—a job that provided a degree and a paycheck, but cost me most of my hair (an occupational hazard I’m still coming to terms with).

There was All Aboard Babies in 2016, Lawn of Eden, a card game called Firefighting Mice, and a coffee truck idea, Brew Buddy’s, that never made it past the driveway but kept the entrepreneurial fire burning.

The partnership that turned a hobby into a legacy

I spent years watching Shark Tank and studying the precision of public accounting, dreaming of a brand that had the resilience of the men I worked with in the fire service and the longevity of a company like Berkshire Hathaway.

When I met my wife, the noise finally settled into a signal. Ironwood & Ash became the creative outlet I needed to navigate a difficult transition and rediscover my purpose. It’s the result of years of accounting for others, finally applied to building something for my own family.
