A Second Life for Every Vessel

At Ironwood & Ash, we build products for the long haul. Our signature metal tins are rugged, pocket-friendly, and designed to withstand the grit of daily life. When you reach the bottom of your favorite dry cologne or skin salve, the journey doesn’t have to end.

We believe in utility and legacy. Instead of tossing your empty tin, we invite you to upcycle it. Here are a few ways our community is giving these vessels a second life.

🛠️ The Workshop & Road Kit

Our tins are the perfect size for those small, essential items that usually get lost in the bottom of a heavy toolbox or a glove box.

Mechanical Spares: Keep a dedicated tin for automotive fuses, cotter pins, or those specific specialty washers you always need during a roadside repair.

Fastener Organizer: Perfect for keeping “extra” screws, nuts, and bolts organized by size on your workbench.

The “Everyday” Kit: Coiled zip ties, a small roll of electrical tape, and a few safety pins fit perfectly for a pocket-sized emergency repair kit.

🌲 The Outdoor & Survival Cache

When you’re off the grid, organization is survival. These tins are water-resistant and crush-proof.

DIY Char Cloth: Punch a small hole in the lid to create a classic char cloth canister for your next campfire.

Emergency Fire Starter: Pack it tight with cotton balls soaked in petroleum jelly or dryer lint for a reliable fire source in any weather.

Pocket Fishing Kit: Store a small spool of line, a few hooks, and lead sinkers for a lightweight survival fishing setup.

🎨 Professional & Creative Gear

Keep your workspace dialed in and your gear protected.

Studio Organization: Use them to corral tattoo machine springs, O-rings, or small hex keys so they are always exactly where you left them.

The Musician’s Companion: A dedicated home for guitar picks or small bridge pins that usually disappear into couch cushions.

Desktop Utility: The ideal size for paperclips, thumbtacks, or keeping your USB drives in one secure spot.

🧳 Travel & Daily Carry

The tin was born for the road; keep it that way.

Pocket Pharmacy: A sturdy, discreet way to carry vitamins or daily medications without them getting crushed in your pocket.

Solid Grooming: Cleaned-out tins are the perfect waterproof home for a small bar of soap or a solid shampoo puck when traveling light.

🧼 How to Prep Your Tin

Before you give your tin a new mission, give it a quick refresh:

Wipe: Use a paper towel to remove any remaining salve or cologne.

Heat: If there is stubborn residue, a quick blast with a hair dryer will soften the wax for easy cleaning.

Wash: Use warm water and a grease-cutting dish soap.

Dry: Ensure it is completely dry to prevent oxidation, and it’s ready for its second life.
